About the Author Charles Mitchell was a news reporter for Rand Daily Mail in Johannesbug and served as the South African-based correspondent for UPI. He then became Moscow bureau Chief for UPI. He's currently the publication director for the conference board, a New York business research organization specializing in global economic forecasting and management issues. Rolf Dobelli Charles Mitchell's book an excellent introduction to the differences in attitudes, values, protocol, rituals, traditions, communication styles and other characteristics that typically separate cultures. He distinguishes between individuals with the basic cultural characteristics of different national groups hold regional and individual variations, too. Mitchell mentions examples of many great nations, including America, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Nigeria, Israel, Australia, China, Japan, Russia, Vietnam and India, and from Latin American and Arab cultures. The book is written in an understandable and well organized, with tips on gift giving, negotiation, dealing with verbal and nonverbal communication, organization of meetings and general management.
