It was a decent introduction to the topic, but I really hope that the book is used more at the undergraduate level, as others have said, not very deep in all areas. My biggest complaint about this book is that it simply misses the point a couple of issues, both technical and business. His examination of Internet technologies contains many of the "newbies", errors that one might expect from someone who just learned HTML, HTTP, XML and web programming, mainly in Java. He also has a section in a chapter dedicated to marketing and in my opinion a misunderstanding some fundamental things I like about the book concepts. Two are1. Covers ethical issues in the MIS, which is a development issue that deserves attention. Each chapter has anectdotal delimas2 stories emphasizing ethics. Each of the five parts of the book begins with an introduction to the event, and each chapter begins with an expansion or continuation of the case. The case illustrates some of the topics to be covered in the pages that follow, and provides a level of reality in this regard that I enjoyed. Not a bad book, but doing so requires an instructor who really knows the subject and to separate the good parts and bad for students. 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
