Common Concern with Many Businesses

Having been in my business for 17 years, I have recongized that there are usually common issues or concerns companies have. The issue or concern will vary from time to time, but at this point of time, many have acknowledged that more and more Baby Boomers are thinking of and/or planning to retire in the near future.

Some had planned to retire a couple of years ago when our economy crashed, but these people are now saying that they are ready to retire. Meanwhile another group of BBs are actively planning to exit over the next 1-3 years.

Note that the Baby Boomer generation is a LARGE number of employees. The issue or concern for companies/organizations is that they have been focused on salvaging their companies but not developing their next generation of leaders. Needless to say, this is a "wake up call" for all organizations to ACT NOW! Are you "Managing your Talent"?
